(JRN504) The Shot Seen Around the *College Football* World

The 2020 college football season has been nothing short of surprising.

From schedule changes to COVID outbreaks to the loss of key players, games are becoming less and less predictable.

And on October 24, we saw the biggest surprise of them all.

Indiana took on No. 8 Penn State at home in a Big Ten matchup and the Hoosiers managed to pull off an incredible 36-35 upset. Indiana came out strong in the first half but Penn State managed to come back in the second and take a late lead. With 22 seconds left in regulation, the Hoosiers tied it up and forced overtime.

Now, this is where it gets interesting.

Indiana's head coach Tom Allen decided to go for two points and hopefully give his team the win. Michael Penix Jr. runs the ball and just crosses the goal line to secure the win for the Hoosiers.

The play was too close to call and after a lengthy review, officials ruled that it was a successful two-point conversion and the upset was complete.

Fans took to social media to debate whether or not Penix actually got the ball to the pylon before hitting the ground, or if he was out of bounds before the play was complete. Then, this photo by Abby Drey surfaced on Twitter and the debate began to spiral.

This game will continue to cause debate for years to come but without this photo by Drey, we will be left with nothing but different video angles to determine plays like this.

It's your turn to decide, was the ball in?
